How to replace the Batteries in Sense4Boat sensors

If the batteries inside your sensor have been depleted, here are the instructions on how to replace them.

Bilge, Battery and Heat sensors battery replacement

Estimated time: Approximately 3–5 minutes

    Prerequisits:

    • 2 x AA Lithium-Batterie 3,6V 2600mAh
    • 2 x double-sided tape
    • 1 x Torx screwdriver size 6

    1. Remove the screws with a Torx screwdriver (size 6) and carefully remove the back casing of the device

      2. Remove the black foam lining. If it is in bad shape, replace it with the new one.

        3. Cut the shrink foil around the battery using pliers, small scissors, or a scalpel. Be careful not to damage or scratch the electronics

          4. Carefully remove the batteries from the holders using the torx screwdriver or flat side of tweezers

            5. Remove the remaining double-sided tape from the black PCB board and replace it with the new one.
Peel of the protective layer from one side and stick it to the PCB board, then remove the top protective layer before inserting the new batteries.

              6. Insert the new batteries (AA battery, 3.6 V) into the holders (be careful about polarities). Press them gently on to the underlying double sided tape.

                7.  Reassemble the device carefully, ensuring that the connector cables are not tangled.
Use the torx screwdriver (size 6) to put the screws back in and close the device.

Stay Secure. Stay Connected. Stay Boating.
